Partisipasi Pemilih Dalam Pemilihan Kepala Desa Di Desa Kedisan, Kecamatan Tegallalang, Kabupaten Gianyar

Abstract

One of the important political activities in the village government system in Indonesia is the election of village heads.In addition to demonstrating participation in elections by voting, communities also demonstrate broader participation, such as discussing their rights and obligations as citizens and the decision-making process. This study aims to examine voter participation in Kedisan Village, Tegallalang District, Gianyar Regency.The research method is descriptive, with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used were documentation, observation, and interviews. The informants for this study were three members of the Kedisan Village community who were eligible to vote. The research results indicate that each voter has three ways to support the village head election: participation in political discussions, campaign activities, and voting. Talking about politics can increase voter participation. One example of political participation in campaign activities is the village head election campaign. This campaign requires an approach that considers demographics, local characteristics, and effective communication methods with villagers.The research questions are: How is the younger generation's interest in politics in realizing elections with integrity? What are the efforts or roles of educational agents in implementing political education for millennials and Generation Z in realizing elections with integrity? What is the impact of political education on the younger generation on political participation in realizing elections with integrity?The people of Kedisan Village elect village head candidates based on certain criteria, although they vote based on their responsibility as good citizens. Voters choose candidates who have clear goals and objectives for the future of the Kedisan community. Well-known and moral candidates tend to be chosen by voters. Voters also choose candidates based on their goals and work plans for the village head's term.
